Walks of wonder in the living forest
Retket is a series of free forest excursions led by various experts and artists. Each one has a different theme, through which we will learn about the forest using a combination of scientific and artistic methods and workshops. On the excursions we will wonder and get to know the forest as a complex living organism. We invite you to come and strengthen your connection to local forests by learning new or forgotten ways of experiencing the forest through all our senses.
The aim of the project is to strengthen people's connection to the local forests by offering new or forgotten ways of experiencing the forest at different times of the year, through all the senses. Each excursion will have a different theme, exploring the varied levels of the forest through methods and knowledge from the sciences and arts. Participants are encouraged to wonder and see the forest as a complex living organism, instead of just a collection of trees, a source of income, a carbon sink, or a place to forage for mushrooms or berries. The project will provide participants with various tools for observing and experiencing the forest, which will help them to explore the ecology of the forest in a more holistic and experiential way. In addition, the events aim to bring together experts from different disciplines and nurture collaboration between the arts and sciences.
